As part of the Harry Winston Ocean collection, the Project Z series was launched in 2004 to produce timepieces crafted from a unique metal alloy called Zalium which was exclusively developed by Ronald Winston for the brand. Zalium is a zirconium-based alloy which proved to be non-reactive, hypoallergenic, and harder than titanium. Aside from being relatively indestructible, the Harry Winston Project Z series was created as a testament to an impeccable fusion between heritage and technical innovation. Each Harry Winston Project Z timepiece launched possesses a feature or complication such as a chronograph with triple retrograde displays, an automatic tourbillon, dual time zones, power reserve warning, day and night indicators, moonphase, and 24-hour alarm. Also within the collection is the Lady Z with its brilliant diamond bezel and aventurine lunar indicator which was specifically created to grace more delicate wrists. Once again, Harry Winston has demonstrated exquisite taste and ingenuity as it looks to the future to reinvent the essence of horology.
