Audemars Piguet Star Wheel
The Valle de Joux in Switzerland set the stage for the fateful meeting of Jules Audemars and Edward-August Piguet in 1875. Both wanting to work in the field of horology, they set up their own manufacture and registered the Audemars Piguet trademark in 1882. This partnership saw the production of some of the most magnificent timepieces the industry has ever seen such as those in the Audemars Piguet Star Wheel collection. Introduced in 1989, it features an unusual time indication via the star wheel complication - three sapphire disks with printed hours rotates on a center wheel, the hour pointing the minutes on a 120-degree sector. The automatic Audemars Piguet Star Wheel is utter perfection in its 36mm - 40mm 18k gold, stainless steel, or platinum case, some of which are set with diamonds and sapphires. With its unique complication, the Audemars Piguet Star Wheel draws attention with its elegant simplicity.
