Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde
A gifted watchmaker, inventor, and entrepreneur, Pierre Jaquet Droz set up his own shop in 1738 at La Chaux- de-Fonds. His mastery of the craft is evident on his brilliant work on animated timekeepers including his famous automatons. Over the years, the brand continues to amaze horology enthusiasts with pieces such as the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde. Dating back to the 18th century, it bears the iconic figure eight design which has seen numerous reinterpretation. The round case may be fashioned from 18k gold, ceramic, steel or titanium with gemstone versions and a sports watch model with a fluted bezel. The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde is powered by an automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve and features an off-centered time indicator with a bigger seconds subdial. Simple yet sophisticated, a more complicated Reserve de Marche and minute repeater Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde model is also available.
