Urwerk was conceived in 1995 when a trio of gifted watchmakers and designer met to realize their own perception of time. Brothers Felix and Thomas Baumgartner set to work on the technical side and left designing in the hands of artist Martin Frei. Known for cutting-edge timepieces, the company consistently pushes watchmaking limits with collections such as the Urwerk 202 that boasts of the world''''s first automatic movement with twin turbine regulation. Made from gold, black PE-CVD platinum, steel, or ALTiN, the micro-sandblasted, satin finished Urwerk 202 ranges in size from 36 to 46.6mm. It''s also hard not to do a double-take when it features patented orbiting hour satellites, retracting telescopic minute hands, moon phase and day/night indicators. With complications like these, to say the Urwerk 202 is a timepiece would be a gross understatement.
