Brief Brand History for
Launched in 2012, HYT produces hydro-mechanical timepieces from its base in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The company debuted its first timepiece, the H1, at Baselworld in 2012. The H1 was the first watch of its kind; the piece displayed the time through rising fluids in a tube instead of an hour hand. For the groundbreaking watch, the brand received the Best Innovative Watch Prize at the 2012 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. Since its founding, HYT has improved upon its initial design, incorporating the hydro-mechanical concept into a number of unique watches. In 2021, Kairos Technology SA acquired HYT's assets after the brand filed for bankruptcy earlier that year. HYT continues to be one of the most innovative companies in the industry.
Product Line Overview
HYT watches are defined by a captivating feature: the use of liquids to tell the time. The company's in-house movements often include retrograde seconds displayed with liquid. In addition to this unique feature, HYT uses color extensively in its cases, dials, and fluid displays. The boldness of the brand's designs is heightened by the prominent size of its watches, which typically surpasses 48 millimeters in case diameter. The crown is often eccentrically placed at two o'clock. HYT also uses innovative case materials. The Moon Runner Collection, for example, has a case made of hydrocarbon and several case and dial elements made of a luminescent, proprietary material called Tec Light. Other collections include the H0, H1, and Hastroid.
