It was in 1830 when the Baume brothers got in the luxury watch business in the small village of Les Bois in the Swiss Jura region. Upon a fateful meeting with fellow watchmaker and jeweler Paul Mercier in 1912, the label as the world knows it was born. A century and a half later, their watches still echo the same "pursuit for perfection" as can be seen in the Baume & Mercier Ilea collection released in 2008. These watches are available in two toned gold and steel or solid steel measuring 30mm in diameter. Inside beats a battery operated Swiss Quartz movement for reliability and precision. Alluring in its simplicity, the Baume & Mercier Ilea has a gorgeous linear designed dial with Arabic and index hour markers underneath a scratch resistant sapphire window. A three handed watch with a date function, the Baume & Mercier Ilea is also offered with fine diamonds.
